The fixed feasts, after the order of the calendar.
The calendar road is the road of the seasons: it
presumeth a keeper who remembereth the day before the name,
the frost of that January, the room one sat in that August. The Church’s year hath kept days for two thousand years; and the keeping by season is the elder memory: before paper, the year itself was the ledger. The Party's calendar never mourned and
never rested; this road mourneth and resteth in its proper
months, and the mourning is not corrected.
