Acta

Here the blueprint becometh a temple: a private ledger of good deeds, written by thy hand and read by no other.

The Charge

Faith without works is dead, and a covenant unkept is but a fair word. The blueprint is holy, yet a blueprint raiseth no walls; the wall is raised by the hand that carrieth the stone. Therefore keep this ledger without pride and without weariness, not to be seen of men, but that the temple may rise, and that thou mayest remember the days when thy hands were faithful.

The blueprint is the Nobis Incumbit Mundum Reparare; the tool is the Oratio Communis; the temple is built by the hands.

The Ledger

The page asketh thee gently, and none overheareth: What good did thy hands this day? Whom didst thou lift, or feed, or forgive? What didst thou mend, and what didst thou make that was not for thyself? What evil didst thou refuse when it was easy to consent? Write what is true. What is written remaineth in thy browser, upon thy device; it is sent nowhere, and the temple keepeth no copy.

The Copying Out

If thou wilt keep thy ledger beyond this device, copy it out: press the page to thy printer, or take the file down to thine own keeping, and let it rest among thy papers. The copying is done by thy hand alone; nothing goeth thence to any other. What is written for the temple is carried in the household, as bread is.

The Law of It

This room is hedged about with one law, and the law is simple: it is local, it is thine, and it is never sent. No clerk readeth thy ledger, no elder weigheth thy deeds, and no judgment falleth from this page. If thou wilt begin again with a clean leaf, clear it whensoever thou wilt. The deeds themselves remain in the world, where they were done.

Where this keeping standeth in the temple's record: the privacy record's storage inventory nameth this key and its room, and the clearing is thine.

The work of the covenant continueth in the Common Prayer, the Prayers, Blessings, and Declarations, and It Is Upon Us to Repair the World. The wing's threshold telleth of them all.
